IMITHI YESINTU BEGINNERS COURSES 

This is a 5 day in-person course on the introduction to African traditional medicine. You can register to take the course in Joburg or in Durban. This course combines in-field classes (at the muthi market) and in-class practicals and presentations. Majority of the course activities will be in groups. This course will have special guest facilitators, namely, muthi market vendors and traditional healers.

  • A guided day tour at the muthi market 
  • Introduction to imithi yesuntu
  • Fundamentals of mixing imithi
  • Making imithi concoctions
  • Group presentations

Intermediate Course

IMITHI YESINTU INTERMEDIATE COURSES 

This is a 5 day in-person course for individuals who have a basic understanding and knowledge of traditional medicines.  You can register to take the course in Joburg or in Durban. This course combines in-field classes (at the muthi market) and in-class practicals and presentations. Majority of the course activities will be in groups. This course will have special guest facilitators, namely, muthi market vendors and traditional healers with 5 years experience or more.

  • Two days at the muthi market 
  • Making imithi concoctions
  • Group presentations

This course will have special guest facilitators, namely, muthi market vendors and traditional healers with 10 years experience or more.

  • One day at the muthi market 
  • Practical demonstrations 
  • Individual presentations
  • Group presentations
