Ashing is a process of burning something to ash. In traditional medicine, it is a method of preparing medicine where a plant or plant material (such as leaves, root, stem, bark) is burned in order to administer the ash as medicine. The burned or charred material is typically ground to powder and applied as medicine or mixed with other medicines and applied as a concoction.
