Desiya chikitsa (or desheeya chikitsa), also known locally as desiya wedakama, hela wedakama, paramparika wedakama, and sinhala beheth, is Sri Lanka’s oldest form of indigenous medicine. It is a holistic medicine system that incorporates local thinking about the body, illness, and therapy in the context of culture, religion, and rituals.
